The Plastics Factory was founded by entertainment and fashion entrepreneur Lexa Vonn.  Lexa got her start in traditional publicity and promotion jobs assisting artists, CEOs and department heads at independent record labels, PR firms and artist management companies throughout Los Angeles in the late 90's. When digital downloading replaced music retailers, she switched to beauty, fashion and event coverage working at stores such as Hot Topic and ULTA while maintaining a concert and fashion column in the local entertainment newspaper Rock City News.

Her promotions company, The Plastics was formed with her team of female journalists and photographers in 2005 as a way to market and promote their articles via MySpace.  After an interview appearance on The Tyra Banks Show in 2006 prompted girls all over the world to request membership into her organization, she franchised The Plastics into a full service music and alternative fashion promotions company that grew to over 100 chapters worldwide and developed a signature line of members merchandise including literature, t-shirts and accessories available to order by mail through The Plastics official MySpace page.

As social media expanded to multiple channels, the demand for a Plastics homebase grew.  In 2010, Lexa signed a deal with The Roxy Theater on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood to book, host and promote a weekly night of live bands and rock n' roll themed performance art called Club Plastic.

During this time she began teaching herself web design in order to launch The Plastics own online magazine and merchandise store.  The first Plastics webzine was launched at the tail end of 2012 and lasted throughout 2015.

By 2016, she launched her own music, beauty, fashion and pop-culture commentary blog and fashion line under the name brand Plastics Style! while working corporate accounts for various clients of all industries.  Adding web and graphic design to her already seasoned portfolio of journalism, photography, promotions, advertising, marketing, social media and live event management, she created The Plastics Factory as the mothership to represent all her services.
